You thought you were hydrated, but then you drank the coconut water.

Everyone tells me that electrolytes are good for you, but this statement usually comes in the same sentence as the word "Gatorade". If you haven't read any of my super-crunchy reviews yet....I'll just tell you that Gatorade grosses me out.
Luckily, there's another more natural way to get those little ions back into your system: coconut water. If I can't get a whole coconut to chop open myself, I can always pick some up from te store. There are many brands that package and sell the water that is naturally trapped inside coconuts, but Vita Coco is my favorite! I mostly drink the "natural" flavor, but they do also have the traditional coconut flavor blended with Tangerine, Pineapple, Peach/Mango, and Acai/Pomegranate essences. I've tried several and they are tasty as well.
Vita Coco is a tiny bit sweet, but totally refreshing - the ingredients list reads nothing but "Natural Coconut Water". After drinking just one container of coconut water, I feel amazingly hydrated and awake - it's seriously the most thirst-quenching beverage I've ever had! It will make you feel like you haven't had water for 30 years, I swear.
Oh, and for those wondering - if asked to explain the ratio of coconut flavor, I'd say it's about 20% coconutty and 80% water. If you HATE coconut, I'd venture to say that you might like this drink! It really does not have a strong flavor at all.
While other beverages claim to be the before, during, and after sports hydrator, we don’t. Sure, Vita Coco has more than 15 times the electrolytes found in sports drinks and is as natural as natural gets (some say it’s just like sticking a straw in a coconut). Vita Coco is about hydration, and hydration is important no matter what you do. It’s okay if you’re not a marathon runner, a football player, or a Tour de France winner. Life is hectic enough, and you should be hydrated while you live it. Go ahead, get hydrated and remember that life is a sport.
