The best science fiction/horror shows that no one has ever heard about

Dead Like Me
The best comedy about death I have ever seen. Bitter, satiric, nasty, funny, tear jerking and just plain fun to watch.
See the full review, "One of the most creative shows about death ever".
2
Primeval
Critters from the past and the future enter our world through "anomalies". The episode with the dodos was especially good, and watching a wooly mammoth on the M5. Well written and well acted.
3
Strange
Defrocked Anglican priest John Strange is out to combat the forces of hell. His superior in the church seems to be one of them. Samantha Janus is really hot!!!
See the full review, "BBC does it again".
4
Thriller
Originally created so that Boris Karloff, who was completely bankrupt, could get health insurance to get treatment for his cancer. The show was excellent. Great horror stories written by established authors (Bloch, Lovecraft, Howard, etc) with good screenplays and decent to excellent actors. Well worth watching
5
Nightmare Cafe
Very short lived series, but a good idea. Mostly a vehicle for Robert Englund, who played Freddie Kruger in the Nightmare on Elm Street series. This was a traveling restaurant staffed by two dead people and Englund. No one could ever figure out what Blackie (Englund) was, but he definitely was not an ordinary human.

What did you think of this list?

Great list. I have a faint recollection of "Thriller", and have heard of the more recent Dead Like Me. I did watch Primeval recently when there was some kind of marathon going on at my local TV station -- I thought the premise was fine, but it turned into the same old "I'm the scientist and I know better" story as he looks for his wife you disappears, blah, blah, blah. Why not add the two Brit shows I liked as a kid: Space:1999 and U.F.O. (At least I think Space was British. I know The Prisoner was but we've heard of that one, eh?)

I suggest writing a sentence or so for each one so that I can better understand the attraction.

As soon as I figure out how to use this, I will add sentences. This is my first and I have some problems with it. I nearly added Project UFO as well. Do you remember that one, done by Jack Webb?

That does sound familiar. On the comment issue, if you hit "edit" and where it says "Why #1", click on that and you can type in a few comments.

I will give that a shot next time. I may be slow, but I will get it

Sweet list. I'll have to check some of these out! The only Scifi show that is sort of on my radar is The Twilight Zone. Whoops!

From your comment on Six Feet Under, I think you will like most of these shows, and I KNOW you will love Dead Like Me. Primeval and Strange are both BBC shows, and the British do know their way around horror. Thriller was a one hour show using really good horror authors (including Bloch, Derleth, Lovecraft, Ellison and many others) and using good actors and competent writing as well. Nightmare Cafe was just for fun.

You're right, I've never heard of these TV shows before,  I'm sure the folks who contribute to the Sci Fi Community have though!  By the way, I added photos for each TV show so that your list looks nice ;)  Thanks for sharing, Uke Dude!

Thanks Devora. I am still having problems with some of the neat stuff here on Lunch, and I definitely appreciate your help.
