I am a BAD BRIDE!!

A Quick Tip by Celestial

This probably belongs in the discussions, but since nobody ever goes there, I'm posting here. By "Bad Bride" I don't mean that I'm a Bridezilla. I don't think that's the case at all. I just mean, I'm a bad bride. I have two regestries, BB&B & Ammy. I knew this was going to be an issue for me, Mike and I even talked about him not giving me the registry password. Alas, it wouldn't matter. I could still look at the regstry and see what had been purchased from it. It's even worse with Amazon, because not only can you see what has been purchased for you, but you can actually go to the "thank you" section and see WHO has purchased it for you! I know I shouldn't. AND I would rather be suprised when I open the gifts, but I just can't help myself. I am telling you, it's a sickness. Maybe not a sickness, maybe a compulsion. Plus I play the "Oh, I wonder who that is from" game. My registry is like a horriffic car accident, I know I shouldn't but I just have to look! My Mom thought I was crazy for registering for fine china, we just aren't that kind of people. "What are you going to do with china?" she asked, "Eat take-out on it?" I told her yes, Mike and I were going to have the most fancy Popeye's meal you have ever seen! What am I talking about my china? Well, because I know that I'm getting at least one placesetting. I don't know when I'm getting it, but it's been purchased. I have seven weeks until my wedding....I wonder how many more times I'll be a bad bride and peek at the registry?

Thank you notes you wish you could write... Dear friends of my Parents that cost me $100 to have at my wedding: Thank you for the dumb ass wicker bread warmer. As it is from the JC Penny home collection, I'm sure it will feel right at home when I return if from what is probably the $4.95 it's worth. My Mom is especially appreciate of this gift, as when your daughter got married earlier this year, she recieved a $50 BB&B gift card. If JCPenny won't take the return, maybe I'll give this to her, and she can regift it when one of your other children get married, as I'm about 90% sure this was some crap your daughter recieved that she didn't want. Don't get me wrong, a gift is a gift and I know I sound ungrateful, but come on.

We haven't registered yet but, I KNOW I'm going to look every five seconds when I get mine done, so I don't think you're a bad bride at all! Do you think we should make discussions a bigger part of the community somehow? I'm on The Knot app, um....let's just say a few times a day, and I think it'd be great to have something like that on here! Congrats, by the way, I don't know if you're already married or not but, congrats in any case :)
