Bella is a tender story that is also a love story.
We see current events with Jose having time at the beach with a little girl, then he reminisces about a time four or five years ago when he worked in New York.
In the past, Jose was an excellent soccer star on the way to sign his first professional contract. Something happens and we go to the time in New York. He now has a full beard and works as head chef in his brother's restaurant. He generally has a depressed and sorrowful attitude.
His brother fires a waitress named Nina, due to tardiness but didn't know that Nina was tardy due to morning sickness. After she is fired, Jose walks out of his job at the restaurant to be with her and see if he can do anything.
He learns that she is pregnant and trying to decide what to do about the baby.
Jose brings Nina home to visit with his parents and family. There are happy times and we learn more of what happened to Jose in his past.
Then, Jose and Nina go back to New York and we don't know what will happen to Nina or the baby she is carrying.
At the conclusion of the story, we learn the answer in a very sweet and tender scene.
I enjoyed the movie and thought that the manner in which it made the viewer think for themselves was intelligent.
