I've always felt as though ordering wedding invitations was a cumbersome process and one that I didn't look forward to (in comparison to all other wedding decisions). I'm recently engaged and have been on the hunt for the perfect wedding invitation.
I started my invitation hunt by googling "wedding invitations" and scores of websites popped up in the search results. Overwhelmed by my choices, I just started clicking and looking at invitations...burning several hours of productivity. After much wasted time, I realized that I need to physically go to an invitation store and start looking for what I wanted.
My hunt led me to a Papyrus (nationwide card store) and bee-lined me into a wall of thick, wedding invitation binders. I pulled up a chair and started flipping through massive binders of wedding invitations, taking my gut reaction as the veto mechanism. After picking out the invitations I liked (which were extremely expensive), I spoke to the papyrus clerk and told her I needed my invitations seriously expedited. She stared skeptically at me and said she'd get me in touch with someone. She then told me that because invitations are so custom, expediting the order probably wouldn't happen.
Feeling let down (because I need my invitations yesterday), I went home and googled "costco wedding invitations" (because I love costco and figure I could save some cash if I went through them).
Turns out, Costco's preferred invitation vendor is eInvite.com and I get 25% off my order because I'm a costco member! I started going through the thousands of invitations (massive selection*) and found the exact same invitation I wanted at Papyrus. Since the Papyrus clerk hadn't called me with any info on expediting my potential order, I decided to order the invites online and call customer service after to beg for a fast turnaround.
*eInvite has every designer from Kate Spade, to Martha Stewart and they have invitations for weddings, save the dates, baby announcements, graduation announcements, thank you notes, custom napkins, favor boxes, and coasters.
I ordered my chosen invites, got digital proofs right away (at Papyrus, I'd have to wait 3+ days for regular proofs) and ordered with the 25% discount. After I ordered, I immediately called Customer Service and got a human on the other end of the line. I told him I needed my invites asap and he said he'd call the manufacturer and call me right back. 10 minutes later, he called and said they could have the invitations in my hands in 4 business days at no extra charge! I was incredibly impressed with the customer service and timeliness of eInvite's response. First class service.
I haven't received the invitations yet...but once I do, I will continue my review with the final product review.
My advice for wedding invitation shopping (to costco members): 1. Go to a invitation store and find out what you like. Choose an invitation 2. Go to eInvite.com and see if they have your invitations 3. order the invites and relax!
