I've read this author since high school. Everytime I re-read her books I just fall in love with her characters a little more. Her books are highly emotional and remind me of the balance of life and love.

Sharon Shinn
I first started reading the archangel series, but have moved on to her other books. I adore her style of writing, and subject matter. She manages to bring today's issues into her fantasy novels. I highly recommend her Archangel series and Heart of Gold.

Neil Gaiman
American Gods is one of my all time favorite books. And I love Neverwhere, as well. Gaiman's style of writing combined with his creativity in subject matter makes him one of my favorites.

S.M. Stirling
S.M. Stirling
I absolutely adore the Dies the Fire series. He writes a fascinating scenario for the end of the world. His books tend to draw on sociology and history.

Jaqueline Carey
Jaqueline Carey
The Kushiel series is great, but her stand alone novel, Santa Olivia is great too.

Nice list! I'm a big fan of Anne Bishop and Gaiman! I've heard good things about Carey, but I still haven't read her series yet. Let's just say I'm a bit behind with reading. ;)
