The Lives of Others
Brilliantly done. It reminds me of my time in Poland and East Berlin before the Wall fell. Love the dated fashion.
See the full review, "The Lives of Others".
2
30 Rock
There's no one like Tina Fey. The humor hits when and where you don't expect it. The show is so smart and fearless.
3
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
I love all the color and patterns in this movie! That and it's a musical, but not schmaltzy. I LOVE Michele Legrand's score. I can watch this movie over and over.
See the full review, "Color and Patterns!".
4
Le Mepris (Contempt)
The scenes of this movie are breathtaking. They'll have you booking a trip, wanting to go there. It's visually inspiring for me to watch this movie.
5
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Uh, it's Jon Stewart. Need I say more?
6
Step Into Liquid
A very inspiring film, even for non-surfers.
7
Fargo (1996)
Hiliarious, twisted and dark. I add other Coen Brothers' movies to this as well, but it's Frances McDormand's performance that get's this one on my list.
8
Bride and Prejudice
This is fun to watch for the hilarious adaptation of Jane Austin's novel. A feel good film to watch after a stressful day.
9
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
Besides loving the story line and Almodovar's entirely unique take on just about anything, this movie reminds me of when I was a foreign exchange student in Spain -just south of Barcelona. The film characters remind me of my host parents and some neighbors in our beach front apt building.
10
Elevator to the Gallows (Ascenseur pour l'échafaud)
The cinematography and soundtrack are very 'cool'. Miles Davis recorded the soundtrack in one evening while watching the film. This is a seriously engaging film filled w/ eye and ear candy .
11
Lovers
Made after Elevator to the Gallows, the film is directed by Louis Malle and stars Jeanne Moreau. It's a light contrast to the earlier film, and has the most jaw dropping, unexpected, yet credible, turn I've ever seen in a movie.
12
mad men
The attention to detail in the mid century sets and costumes are what draw me to Mad Men. The story line is well written and the acting is great, but I'm not sure I'd get into this w/o the amazingly styled sets and costumes.
13
True Blood Logo
Because I've only seen one show and want to see more.
14
Lost
I copied this from Kevninsm's list. I've never watched Lost. Can you believe that? I bet you can!
15
The Office
Art imitates Life.
16
Brothers and Sisters
Sally Field. I love her.
17
Terminator_The Sarah Conner Chronicles
I copied this from kevinism's list. I did like the original...

Okay, after reviewing this, I have realized that I watch entirely too much TV. To my defence, however, with a DVR, shows are only half as long as they …
