I try lawsuits for a living. The law has been very good to me in the sense that I am able to do what I love for people who need my help.
I take pride in what I do, and understand that my profession is the subject of a great deal of public scorn. However even the most anti-lawyer citizen will swear by his or her own lawyer. This is because we do for them what they cannot do for themselves. I owe each client a duty of zealous advocacy and undivided loyalty, But I am also an officer of the court, which means that I must help conserve judicial resources by bringing to the court only honest disputes in need of resolution.
