The XBMC group has just announced a release of their software that will run on all [jailbroken] iOS devices. The already awesome AppleTV just cranked the volume up to 11!

I managed to jailbreak my AppleTV last night using the Seas0nPass software. After that, the XBMC install was easy. I was getting some stuttering at first when watching movies encoded with DTS, but after finding a fix to allow DTS and Dolby Digital pass-through, video playback was smooth. Now my entire media library is available through the AppleTV. Navigating the menus isn't quite as fast and as smooth as the native AppleTV interface, but the additional capabilities are more than worth it. Can't wait to see what additional hacks are around the corner!
