Aunny's Favorite Things (2009)

Much like Oprah, my list of 'Favorite Things' changes on an almost constant basis, with the exception of a few "lifers," so with that said I had to clearly notate that this list is for 2009. My list for 2010 will almost certainly look different, but with two more months left in the year, here are a few of my favorite things that keep me sane, happy, healthy and in love with life.

Boston Terrier

My Boston Terrier, Sancho is hand's down #1 on my list of 'Favorite Things.' Many things in life change, my love for Sancho and his ranking in my list is not one of them. (Little known fact: "Sancho" in Spanish, means "my other man" or "lover." And no, I didn't get his name from the Sublime song.)

Craigslist

Much of my home decor was found on Craigslist. As a matter of fact, I've found a lot more than decor, I have found jobs, gifts, electronics, bikes and much more too. The phrase "one man's trash is another man's treasure" describes this site perfectly. You can find, buy, sell, trade just about anything on Craigslist and in my eyes, the company's philosophy is brilliant.

Freixenet Sparkling Cordon Negro Brut

I've got one word for you people..."bubbles." I love them. Sometimes they don't love me back, but champagne is always alright by me. Freixenet happens to be a very affordable (from $8 - $13appox) label that is delicious and always easy to find.

Amoeba Music

What I have termed "Disneyland for adult music lovers" Amoeba Music is a SF-based record store with a MASSIVE selection of new and used music and movies, in just about every format. From the uber-obscure to the modern/contemporary, chances are, Amoeba has it. The perfect day for me includes a trip to Amoeba (which happens to be dog-friendly) because I'm one of the few who still thinks that digital is good, but CD's come first.

Scotch Magic Tape

I'm about to admit something fairly embarrassing, but I'm OK with that, so here we go...I love Scotch Magic Tape. Call me crazy, but I freaking LOVE the look and feel of tape. Admittedly, rolling Scotch Tape between my fingers is a nervous/anxious habit of mine I have had since I was little. Some people smoke, I roll Scotch Tape. So what? Shut up!

Ruby Woo Lipstick (MAC)

I believe that a good red lipstick can make any woman feel beautiful. Of course, the wrong shade of red lipstick can prove to be disasterous. C'mon, we've all seen it before and it ain't pretty. Ruby Woo is a ultra matte red lipstick from MAC that I have worn for years. With very little else on my face, this particular shade of red is my go-to lipstick when I need to face the public even when I'm not feeling my best.

Beverly Hills, 90210

I'm a sucker for the original. If I'm gonna be honest, I'm also a sucker for the current incarnation too. The actors are half my age, so this time around I'm more attracted to the male teachers (who are also a good 7-8 years younger than me). If I had crushes on the current male characters that would just be creepy. Can you say "Cougar Alert"?

American Apparel

If extreme comfort is your thing, I hope I'm not the first to tell you about American Apparel T-shirts. Their 50/50 T-shirt is the most comfortable thing I have ever worn. I'm not exactly a T-shirt kind of gal, but if I'm wearing one, you better believe it is from American Apparel.

Do you like two-sided tape as well as regular tape? Mr. Scotch certainly made a bunch of money on his invention, huh? On the other hand, I use post-its: Colored ones, tiny ones, shapes, whatever. I just found out that there are post-it glue sticks. They've probably been around for years, but I just found them. Scientists are so clever.

sancho loves his dingo's, nice, i love it!! so funny, i tried to pawn of some faux dingo's and neither of my two dogs would eat them.. and my black pug, beumont, eats everything!! ya know, i'm going to give them dingos now.. ;)

Such a fun list. I would have added my dogs to my list, but with two dogs, I'd have to rank them in the list and I just couldn't do that to them.
