I got my 07 Fit in college and it has been nothing but fantastic memories. My roommates and I drove from Chicago to LA, 2000 miles, with 5 of us and all of our gear for a week in LA and a week of snowboarding after. I would be lying if I said it was comfortable the entire way, but it worked, and I still got 33+ mpg the whole way.
I've seen these things hold a drafting table, sets of tires, multiple bikes, an entire tailgate with full size grill and lawnchairs, and countless other things, often with a full load of passengers. I originally hated the tagline "The Fit is Go," but over the years, I've caught myself saying it over and over again. This thing never ceases to amaze me.
Bottom line: safe, versatile, efficient, and affordable. A fantastic all-around car.

As my '99 corolla is reaching the end of the road, I will someday soon be looking for a new fit. Maybe the Fit will fit to safely lead me to new pathways.
I'm obsessed with this car, my roommate got one for graduation, and all the road trips to vegas have been extremely conferable and surprisingly spacious considering the amount of luggage we all have.

Yeah, all my roommates loved it, too. We once took 8 people to Santa Monica beach in it, about a 20 minute drive. What we didn't account for was the LA rush hour on the way back. The two guys sitting in the trunk didn't appreciate the hour+ commute.
In a bizarre case of near marketing screw-up, Honda originally called the car the "Fitta", which apparently is the Swedish word for, ahem, the C Word (see http://forbruker.no/bil/article291156.ece). Note to brand marketers and creatives: it pays to hire a cunning linguist.
Raised by gypsies, I never quite shook my inborn touch of wanderlust. I gallivant around, writing about things I see, do, and think about, which is pretty much anything. Sometimes people even pay me to … more
