My Favorite Anime Series of All Time

Though I've been watching anime (Japanese animated shows) since I was a kid without knowing it, anime officially became my hobby in 1996, when I saw "Sailor Moon" for the first time. These are my favorite anime series of all time!

Sailor moon
This was the anime that started it all for me and became a huge fixture in my life, spawning my web site www.moonprincess.com and then fueling years of performing as Sailor Venus for conventions and Japanese cultural events. I love the romance within Sailor Moon as well as the title character's never-ending courage, willingness to sacrifice, and hope.
The first anime character I ever cosplayed was Jessie of Team Rocket from this show! The Pokemon themselves is what makes this show so great for me. They are just so dang cute and they just say their names. "Pika pika pika. CHU!!!!" While I have to admit, most episodes are pretty mindless fillers that really don't further the story. However, it's those key episodes that touch my heart that make me come back for more. I don't think any other show has made me cry as much as "Pokemon", except maybe "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition". OMG! Whenever any of Ash's Pokemon leave to further the world, you better believe the waterworks come on!!
"Chobits" pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable and possible when it comes to technology. Can a robot love and is it wrong to love a robot? From the amazing writers & artists of CLAMP, this story includes sci fi, romance, and asks some tough questions about what should be acceptable in society as our technology evolves. Honestly, I liked the "Chobits" manga better but watching the characters come to life in the anime is a must also!
"Inuyasha" is an anime about demons, priestess, and love triangles! Oh my! While the tone of the anime is a bit dark with demon slaying and the death of many innocent people, there is also a lot of romance and comedy. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the entire series (as the manga in Japan which the anime is based off of just finished) but it's definitely a show that keeps me on my toes!
Fruits Basket
What happens when a family is cursed so that every member transforms into an animal of the Chinese Zodiac whenver they are hugged by the opposite sex? "Fruits Basket"!! This anime is hilarious but also very sweet. Tohru Honda, the main character, is really what brings this whole comedy together with her loving and caring personality.
Azumanga Daioh
"Azumanga Daioh" is about a bunch of students and that's about it. Other than that, it's just random and crazy! That's just what you need sometimes...a bunch of random crazy laughes!
Ah! My Goddess
While the main character Keiichi frustrates me to no end, what I love most about this anime is the art. The goddess are drawn so beautifully. Not to mention, Belldandy shows that you can be a kind and gentle person but wield extreme power and strength.
Fushigi Yuugi
"Fushigi Yuugi" is probably the darkest of all of these anime series on my list. Two best friends are sucked into the a book Universe of the Four Gods, where they are pitted against one another as rival priestesses who must lead their warriors on a quest to have 3 wishes granted by the gods. It's a great story about how ordinary people become extraordinary.
Love Hina
When a high school boy begins living with a bunch of girls at a hot spring, it leads to hilarious consequences. Watch Keitaro get beat up by girls over and over again, as he looks for the girl from his childhood who he promised to attend Tokyo University with!
"Pretear" rounds out my list. While it is a fairly short anime, I adored the love/hate relationship between Himeno and Hayate!
