Virgil is known for their ribs.  But to me, Virgil’s is much more then a rib place.

The décor
When you first get to Virgil’s you notice that Virgils is old school.  They have nice dark wood floors.  Their sitting area is a normal seating area.  Its two levels.  One would guess that the bathroom is on the first floor.  But if you guessed that, you are WRONG.  The bathroom is on the second floor.  Now that usually isn’t  a big deal.  However there was a plethora of drunk people walking down the stairs and almost falling.  It was quiet comical.

The Ribs

I LOVE ribs.  If I see ribs on the menu, and it’s a good restaurant I’ll get the ribs.  However the ribs that I had at Virgi’s were just rated OK by me.  They weren’t special, they were just average.  All in all I have nothing really to say about the ribs.  However the next 2 items are a totally different story.

The drinks
Let me just say that the drinks here are amazing…Amazingly strong that is!  I’m a big guy, I can take a long island ice tea.  Well these long islands where made so well that I didn’t even realize I was drunk until I was on my 2nd long island.  After my second to say I was blitzed would be an understatement.  I would go here just for the drinks.

Desert
Now I don’t know if their red velvet cake was so good because I was drunk or if it was just that good!  The piece of cake was gigantic. I used the left over room in my stomach from the ribs to pound down not one, but two pieces of this yummie red velvet cake.

The Appetizer
On another night we visited Virgil’s again and got an appetizer.  I have to recommend the BBQ nachos.  Where the ribs failed, the BBQ nachos rocked.  I have never had nachos with bbq sauce.  The nachos where caked with chunks of meet in BBQ sauce.  The BBQ sauce was amazing.  The nachos were amazing.

Ribs...no nachos... hell yea! Ribs...no nachos... hell yea! Ribs...no nachos... hell yea!

Thanks for sharing, Seth.  A "2nd long island" alwas sounds like bad news ;P  Now you've got me hungry for ribs and red velvet cake!

By the way, it's "dessert" with two s's.  My fourth grade teacher taught us that the main difference between desert and dessert was that you always wanted more of the latter and that's why it had a extra s.  I don't usually point out spelling errors in reviews, but this one's got a story behind it! :P
