Asahi Super Dry - singularly refreshing beer!

As I started to write the review, I realized I was having difficulty finding any words of wisdom to pass on. I felt like I was trying to snag a zephyr or find the words to describe the taste of cold water out of a mountain stream. In other words, I know I liked it, there was a sense that it tasted wonderfully cool and refreshing but it was entirely unprepossessing and unpretentious. There was no memorables notes or aromas or overtones that one could get a handle on and describe.

Now don't misunderstand me ... it was unmistakably a beer but it was remarkably unremarkable, if that makes any sense at all.

Cool, clear, clean, crisp, refreshing, light, easygoing and enjoyable ... but still unremarkable. If you want to string out two, three or four cold ones on a hot summer day and not worry about being overhwhelmed with any lingering flavours or after-taste, then Asahi is your beer!

Enjoy.

Some beers are really just that way....it can be really hard at times to describe a beer that you really like, but is really not standing out for any particular flavor or anything.

Asahi is very refreshing indeed!  In fact, it's one of my favorite beers to have with sushi.  You've described the Super Dry perfectly! :)

Thanks so much, Devora. I really worried about sounding like I had no idea what I was doing with this one. It's nice to hear a confirming opinion.

A crystal clear, pleasant, unpretentious beer with a refreshing but unobtusive palate.
