As I started to write the review, I realized I was having difficulty finding any words of wisdom to pass on. I felt like I was trying to snag a zephyr or find the words to describe the taste of cold water out of a mountain stream. In other words, I know I liked it, there was a sense that it tasted wonderfully cool and refreshing but it was entirely unprepossessing and unpretentious. There was no memorables notes or aromas or overtones that one could get a handle on and describe.
Now don't misunderstand me ... it was unmistakably a beer but it was remarkably unremarkable, if that makes any sense at all.
Cool, clear, clean, crisp, refreshing, light, easygoing and enjoyable ... but still unremarkable. If you want to string out two, three or four cold ones on a hot summer day and not worry about being overhwhelmed with any lingering flavours or after-taste, then Asahi is your beer!
