We have withdrawn from Iraq . The withdrawal from Afghanistan will be more problematic. Warren Buffet has indicated that the housing inventory should clear some time during 2013. President Obama is expecting that exports should be improving more dramatically in the 2013-2014 time frame.
Obamacare has been passed although the implementation will provide much better information on whether or not the intended outreach has been achieved at an acceptable cost. Taxing junk food would provide much more funding for any healthcare program, as well as discouraging behaviors that precipitate many diseases and cause higher health care costs.

The repeal of Obamacare might leave the public with a voucher system. A voucher system implies limits. Not all disease processes can be managed by a single voucher allotment across the board. The other alternative again is to tax junk food to discourage excess consumption and obtain monies to pay for a voucher system in implementation.
The repair of an aging infrastructure must be addressed, as well as growing small business. We have yet to tax the underground economy effectively. About the only effective way to tax the underground economy is with excess consumption taxes. Something akin to a flat tax should be discussed again to simplify the tax code and increase collections. I hope that all of these things and more will be addressed in the upcoming Presidential Debates.
