What is happening to our nation

The 2010 US Census is a joke. There is so much waste and corruption. I personally know a Census worker. She is unemployed at the moment and needing some extra money to get by. The cenus job seemed like a great fit. She is finding the whole process is worse than the poorly managed marketing jobs serving samples at WalMart.
They attend trainings, then they are told how many hours they can work. Then they are told the work is not available. Then they are told just be ready to work whenever we call you. Do not do anything else that might affect your ability to work as you will not be able to complete the project. She waits for days and hears nothing. Meanwhile, other temp positions arise but she cannot accept as she is waiting. She gives up and takes a temp job ( a person has to eat too) Then she is called, found not available and yelled at for leaving her post.
The current wave of jobs, finding abandoned places and re confirming no residence is a triple check on work already done by two other workers.
The biggest waste is the milage reimbursement. They drive folders hundreds of miles across the state to each other criss crossing the same territory two to three times a day.
The management of the system is a shame. 

As long as the government is running the census it will always be corrupt. I think it would be best managed by a private corporation. The results would be the same. There are some that do not want to be counted. There is nothing we can say to cahnge their minds. Get governement out of the picture, re-establish a private corp. to do the counting and it would be a lot cheaper and less hassle for all Americans.

PS Perhaps they could hire the Mormans to do the Census. They knock on all the doors of America anyway and they do not get a milage reimburesment. :-)
