Chase, I would like to thank you for taking me on a whirlwind adventure today!

Normally, I would have nothing to say about Chase. My parents have used them since I can remember, and so I only thought it would be natural to also bank with them. It made perfect sense.... until today. Today, Chase decided to hold my paycheck for no apparent reason... When asked why, they did not have answers other than "they are allowed to hold anyone's deposit". So they want to hold my measily paycheck until April 1 because "they can". Apparently Bank of America and Wells Fargo do not hold their customers paychecks for no reason, so I am considering switching banks. Being broke and in college, I rely on my paychecks that I work hard for. There should have been no reason why the check from the company I work for wasn't automatically deposited into my account. I think I need my money a little more than Chase Bank does.... On top of being extremely confused as to why my paycheck has a "hold" on it, the customer service was horrible. It was like they treated me as if I had done something wrong. I didn't know there was a right or wrong way to deposit a check. It all seems pretty basic to me, especially since I have deposited hundreds of checks over the years.

So, hats off to you, Chase Bank, I am forever ungrateful for your horrible holding methods and horrible customer service.

April 1st? That's ridiculous! I mean, I understand holding a check and have it be pending for a few days, but I've never had a check that had to be held for a week before, no matter how small or large the amount. I'm a Chase customer, too... Hope this never happens to me :x Thanks for sharing, Carly!
