Most people do not know how to resolve conflicts harmoniously and often resolve to getting lawyers' input. That, however, is often the worse way. I feel that most lawyers take on a combat mentality whenever they get a case and if no case, they are not being rewarded. In fact, conflict of interest existed even between the lawyer and client. Hence, if it's not the last resort, and one's intention is to solve interest in a peaceful manner, best not to get lawyers into the picture. Anyone who's served the lawyer's letter turned defensive immediately. No way to resolve conflict that way. People in authority are often the worse party to be negotiations where conflicts arise.
