The beauty of technology is that it opens up the whole new world right in your living room, bedroom or even bathroom! I've a friend in Dhaka (yes, that is Bangladash!) who chats with me on Skype from the comfort of his bathtub! Yes, he's wired via wifi and enjoying his time there with his personal butler, housekeeper & chauffer! I'm envious, obviously. Living like a king in the Third World! Lucky fella!

Ok, this review is not about him. It is about a widget I found on Widgetbox. This small but mighty widget is a compilation of news (world, business, sports, entertainment & technology) from a selection of countries like Canada, U.S.A., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, U.K. & even as far as India. The user can paste this widget onto his/her personal blog or like what I had done on my blog at Sharrie.TV, (to see the said widget, simply scroll to the bottom of the page), or on this review (which for some reason I've not been able to embed the scripts, beats me why; had the same problem with embedding a video from BusinessWeek as well, even though the same script is working on my blog!).
To use it, you just have to make a selection of which countries news you'd like to browse through & which kind of news it'd be. That's pretty neat, as far as I'm concerned. One can also select the latest news or the archieve ones too. An extremely useful way of keeping in touch with all that's happening in the world. It'd be best if China is also included! May be the next version of the widget coming up anytime soon!
If you're interested in getting the Newsmap widget, go to Widgetbox & simply grab the HTML code. There are plenty of widgets on Widgetbox which might interest you as well. So, check them all out & should you find something that's fantastic, do buzz me! Enjoy...
