Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Here's hoping you all are having a great time wherever you may be & wishing you all a great deal of love. Hope you enjoy these songs!
Making your Lunch mixed tape, huh?? Great work, love the videos.

Thnks Jim. This was a fun list to compile. It's sort of like a mixed CD in the making & you guys should consider yourselves lucky to hear it first because I haven't even burned the cd yet for myself. LOL
Chan is awesome! I don't think this represents all her work but somehow I can't get enough of this song. Ahh, it drives me crazy. Ironically, she is from my area but I've never met her. I have friends of the family who knew her as well as her sister. Funny that. Thnks Melissa!!
Good stuff. I love Berlin and I even like that song despite the fact that it was partly responsible for their break up. "How Soon Is Now" is perhaps the sexiest song I've ever heard about not being able to get a date. I'm surprised that you didn't include any Tori. Seems almost criminal. ; )

I agree. But I'm already expected to put Tori on every list of music I create just as people are now expecting Otto; Or Up With Dead People to be on every movie list of mine. Hmm, sometimes we cenos are ironic. I'm thinking about burning this CD today. Thanks Orlok!
Most CDs hold about 80 minutes, so you could fit at least five more songs on here. If I might be so bold to suggest a few based on what you already have... Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time" Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love" Derek & the Dominoes "Layla" The Cure "Pictures of You" Annie Lennox "Love Song for a Vampire"

Definitely The Cure. The others are pretty good ideas too. I don't remember the Annie Lennox track however. Which album is that on?
Count_Orlok_22February 05, 2010
It's from the soundtrack to the 1992 film "Bram Stoker's Dracula". It plays during the credits.

Hmm, don't recall it but I'll look it up. Thanks! I could've thrown some Diamanda Galas on the mix album but the atmosphere of this one is more mellow so perhaps I'll reserve her material for an edgier or darker Valentine's Day mixed CD.

Yeah, the Valentine's Day CD for really bad break-ups and revenge sex. LOL!
cenobite7February 05, 2010
Some Diamanda, Nine Inch Nails, & that Kelis song "Caught Out There". LOL

"the sexiest song I've ever heard about not being able to get a date". HAHA I LOVE IT! So true, too. One of my favorites. "So you go and you stand there alone, and you leave on your own, and you go home, and you cry and you want to die". So depressed.

Exactly, and Morrissey delivers that line perfectly. I miss The Smiths and "Girlfriend in a Coma" just doesn't get enough radio play.
cenobite7February 06, 2010
Yeah, it's a pretty depressing song but Morrissey could sing his grocery list to me & I would be willing to listen. I love his voice whether it be work with The Smiths or his solo offerings. Morrissey rocks!

I'm only familiar with his early solo work. Late '80s and early '90s stuff. I think he released an album just a few years ago... have you heard it?
cenobite7February 06, 2010
He actualyl released two last year but I've only heard bits and pieces. I'm more familiar with his work with The Smiths & then the first few solo albums like Bona Drag which I still play religiously.

Man, if you two EVER did a collabo...I would buy the CD off iTunes in a snap! Love the list, Bri! I've been thinking of doing one but, there's way too many on my list ;p
Count_Orlok_22February 07, 2010
You can always do one and then sequels. I've been guilty of that quite a bit lately. ; )
I've spent years trying to make others happy & not really focusing on what's most important in my own life. Having said that, my own health & security are paramount so now I'm more … more
