Perhaps inspired by the film Pillow Book, I decided to make a list of really great things which I enjoy tremendously & would rather not live without. While this list is not inclusive of everything which makes me tick or brings a smile to my face each day, this is a random list of things that I felt compelled to share with others. After all, how fun can life possibly be if you never have that moment of exchange where you can open up & simply reveal yourself to others. Life would be cold & impersonal if we did not share with one another. As always, please feel free to leave comments or suggestions as I embrace them all.
Whenever I'm craving something in the art world such as a book or a movie, amazon is the first place I look. I've been quite fortunate enough to find most of what I want on the majority of my visits. I can't go so far as to say this helps my poor wallet which I'm in the process of trying to stretch but I do commend the website for giving me what I crave most.
Perhaps my favorite musician of all time & she continues to amaze me with each new album & every live show. I've been a fan for over 17 years, seen her live a total of 9 times, & own much Tori paraphernalia. Let's just say I'm a fan for life. Some people followed The Beatles & others followed icons like Kurt Cobain or Madonna. I'm a Toriphile or an ear with feet.

I never though I'd be totally crazy about this woman's books but I must admit that they are simply addictive. If you've never read any of her Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books, you simply don't know what you're missing. Fans of the True Blood series on HBO or Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans should take note. This is perhaps one of the few series out there that I cannot leave alone & I haven't had this kind of craving for a series since Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.
This is a truly unique & certainly engaging read even if you're not into the whole gothic subculture. Consider this the Bible as far as Goth history is concerned because there's a wealth of knowledge to be found within these pages.
While amazon.com usually satisfies my craving for great finds at a bargain, I have lucked up on ebay as well & still do visit the site from time to time for a lil's bargain shopping. Although some of the purchases I've made from this site were no better than what one could find at a yard sale, you can find some hard to find goodies if you proactively search here.
This was my absolute favorite film of 2008 although I didn't discover it until the DVD release in 2009. I've never seen anything quite like it & the film screams "instant cult classic". I bought it solely based on word of mouth & it was worth every penny. I find something new & remotely fascinating about it with every single viewing. Edward Albee (playwright) speaks very highly of Otto if that should help you. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!!!

Whenever I think of great soymilk, this one always comes to mind. It's creamy, a tad sweet, & reminds me of a yummy vanilla milkshake. Not surprisingly, this is actually a healthy beverage too so I usually stock up whenever the local grocery stores run a sale on this brand. My drink of choice & it also goes quite well with lattes or frapps.
This is one of the coolest films I've ever seen about vampires although I haven't seen them all. It's unusually sexy, suspenseful, & tragic all at once but very beautifully done. I immediately bought this on DVD when it was released back in 2004 & have played it numerous times through the years. I even give this film as a gift for the holidays to close friends. You know a film is almost a guaranteed classic when you combine the talents of David Bowie, Susan Sarandon, & of course Catherine Deneuve.

I have alweays loved shopping for a bargain. Lately, I'm finding some of the coolest stuff in local Dollar Tree stores, Big Lots, & the Mighty Dollar. I have been overly fortunate to find trance/elctronica CDs, the last CD from Bjork, & some pretty cool DVD movies. For less than $20 over the course of a few weeks, I've saved quite a bundle of stuff I would've gladly paid more for. I bought five copies of the Bjork CD Volta for $5. I kept one for myself & gave the other four as gifts to friends. Dollar Tree rocks!!
