In one of the original "Ant Man" episodes, the Ant Man and Wasp are in an underground ant's nest and are being threatened by a snake. Rather than wait for the other ants to arrive one immediately attacks the snake and is killed, buying time for Ant Man and Wasp to be saved by the rest of the colony. At the end of the episode both Ant Man and Wasp express sympathy for the ant, lamenting its death.
