a question by Sep 15, 2011
I recently came across a series of graphics novels called "Blab!" in the local used bookstore. The one I read contained a series of unusual short stories, many of which I found hard to understand. However, the artwork is very well done; I got the impression that that was the focus rather than the storyline. Has anyone else had this reaction to the "Blab!" series?

No as I have not read them, but your question piqued my curiosity. Fantagraphics says: The preeminent anthology of painting and the illustration arts. BLAB! is an annual coffee-table showcase of fine art, illustration, and comix, and a gold-standard in the work of the professional visual arts." Fine art and a message sounds great. I hope they have this at the library. I saw several volumes for sale.

From your description, it looks like my reaction was what it should be.
