This cartoon book is just plain silly; the story lines have no semblance of reality, even for a cartoon book. The worst example is the last story, where an American space capsule goes off course in coming back to Earth and lands in the Lodge's swimming pool. Jughead is hailed as a hero for helping the astronaut but there is a complication as there are two foreign spies trying to get pictures of the capsule. One is a caricature of former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev and the other a caricature of Cuban leader Fidel Castro. The spies steal the spacecraft out from under the noses of American agents but Archie and Reggie manage to track them down and physically beat them into submission. Other stories feature a robber armed with a squirt gun, a space alien that eats metal, Betty and Veronica working as nurse's aids and a fashion show where the clothing is made from school supplies. A campy, yet enjoyable trip back to the days of simplistic comics, this collection of Archie cartoons is so foolish that it is fun.

Good write-up, but when was it published? Is this a new one? Graphic novel?
