I have never read the Tintin comics or the graphic novels, so I was not sure what to expect when I went to see the new movie. I knew Steven Spielberg was behind the movie, so my expectations were high. After seeing the movie I now want to check out the comics the movie was based on. Speilberg has created a very special and well done animated feature. The CGI effects works perfectly. The story moves along at a rockets pace. And I was completely captivated with the movie.

I thought it reminded me a lot of an Indiana Jones film. The exotic locations, the wild action sequences, and the special effects are all reminiscent of the Indiana Jones films, with a little Pirates of the Caribbean thrown in for good measure. There is no question that Speilberg took the source material seriously and is a big fan of the comics. He treats the subject with respect and great fun.
I loved the fact that they did not make Snowy the dog into a typical cartoon character dog. They allowed the dog to behave like a real dog, chasing cats, wanting food and treats. The dog was one of my favorite parts of the film.
I give the film 5 stars and recommend it highly. Its great fun. A animated film for adults that the kids will enjoy also if you bring them along.

yep, this one almost felt like a work of love for the material....glad Spielberg took on the film....ala-Indiana Jones! Nice one and thanks for posting it in Movie Hype
