A massive reference book and a collector's item, THE BATMAN FILES isn't a typical book about Batman. Though, it comes in lavish book form, THE BATMAN FILES is more akin to a journal than an actual book. The book portends to be taken from the Batcave. It's composed as a journal/encyclopedic file put together by Bruce Wayne in case something were to happen to him so that others would know who Batman was and what motivated him. Matthew Manning claims that he received the book in a plain brown package with the implication that Bruce Wayne has died. Besides writings from Wayne, the book is full of personal photos, newspaper clippings, in-depth computer files, blue prints, schematics for weapons, and maps. It's all presented in a lavish, faux-leather covered volume with a magnetized clasp and a silver metal bat-logo. This is THE book for Batman fans. It works as both a serious Batman reference book and a coffee table book.

Good review. I like that light/dark cover. Linked it to For the Love of Comics community too. Thanks.
