In the great race of space bad guys in video games who are all out to destroy the Earth, the Sinistron is unique. Instead of being an entire squadron of aliens, the Sinistron is just one enemy. Just one. So what's the problem? Well, he's a big 'un, who is out to lay waste to our home planet after gobbling up Pluto as a snack, like some kind of budget version of Galactus. The … more
They call it the swiss army knife of controllers, and they are right. The WiiU gamepad is in a class of its own. Off the top this things got built into it a 6 inch touch screen, NFC reader, Accelerometer, gyroscope, built in universal remote for televisions and cable boxes, speakers, a front facing camera, volume control and headphone jack. The controller allows you to continue playing a game if you … more
N64 was a great console, yes it couldn't hold a candle to the PS1 which had better looking games, but nonetheless was a great console. But after all the years Ive played game on the thing I still don't understand this controller. Do I hold it in the middle or the sides, Do i play one handed? The hell Nintendo. As if my childhood wasn't confusing enough.
KingreX32 posted a Quick Tip about Watch_Dogs.
Don't ask me how, Don't ask me why, but when I first saw this game at E3 2012, it was love at first sight. I loved the game, and when it was announced for WiiU, I knew at that moment I had to own it. I HAD TO OWN IT!!!! So yesterday I pre ordered it. By November this game will be mine. Maybe I will review it, Im not sure yet.
I tried to play the first Assassins Creed game, it was slow and kind of boring but could be fun at times. When I got my WiiU I decided that I wanted to give the series another chance, so I decided to buy Assassins Creed 3. I played it, I loved it., LOVED IT!!!!! So when I heard the announcement for Assassins Creed 4 naturally I got super excited. Something I really loved from AC3 was the Naval Missions … more
Overview Quake is a 1996 FPS from iD software, legendary developers of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. It was one of the first PC titles to offer a fully 3D world instead of the 2.5D graphics which were popular with FPS games at that time. During the development of this game there was a lot of internal strife at iD software (leading to John Romero being fired, and going on to develop … more
Bowser fights Mario. It's a long-established fact of life in video games. There's an entire new generation of kids being raised now for whom it's such a law of the universe, it's absurd to look at it in any other light. They don't understand or appreciate that Mario's first-ever foe was a big ape by the name of Donkey Kong, mostly because Donkey Kong is now so firmly entrenched in the Nintendo canon … more
I'll be blunt right off: Golden Axe is overrated! It has clunky mechanics and bugs which were difficult to excuse back when it was a new-fangled arcade game and in the opening of the Silver Era. Over 20 years after the fact, Golden Axe has been devoured and shit out by the Time Monster, and there's no way to let go of its advanced age anymore. And this game, folks, was a CLASSIC! It's a common staple … more
The Last of Us is undoubtedly one of the best games I've played in a long while, and one of the better IP's this generation. Good to see, that even with the release of the PS4 and the next generation of counsels coming soon, we're still getting such quality games for this generation. The Last of Us is just the type of game we needed to send this generation out with a bang, and I'm … more
If you're not familiar with the video game version of the old King Kong scenario, you're a sorry excuse of a gamer. Donkey Kong is one of those truly old games from the ancient era from when games were games, and nothing but. In the early 90's, Nintendo created a Game Boy version of Donkey Kong to attract your father as a fan, just in time for Donkey Kong's revision and transformation from the original … more
Today we know the NES Controller as the controller that defined video game controllers for all time. While the deceptively simple controller has a design both ubiquitous and iconic enough to be a popular graphic image, we forget just what a giant leap it represented in the way we control our video games. Of course, our rose goggles for the little Nintendo machine that brought the video game industry … more
Pros: The grip is very natural Cons: The d-pad is nothing but a decoration The Bottom Line: This controller is maligned. Here's a revisionist view of it which argues that it is one of the most important controllers to come along. The Nintendo 64 controller may be the most irony-loaded devices the world of video gaming has … more
Pros: Plastic isn't wasted... Cons: ...Because the controller is small and feels like a pill The Bottom Line: Still not understanding why people love this thing so much. God bless the controller hand grip. I don't know when these little but essential additions to video game controllers showed up first, but god bless their inventor. … more
When Donkey Kong Country became a huge, runaway hit for the Super NES (as if it could ever have been a failure), you had to know more was right down the line. Would video game-playing adults like to have a version of Donkey Kong Country to carry around with them as they traveled? Of course they would! The practical problem, though, was that all Nintendo really had as a portable console at the time … more
RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Angry Birds.
When I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet (10.1 inch model) last November, I had to download Angry Birds off Google Play's store. This game is like crack. This game is fun, but it's too addicting. Who would have thought that a game where you use various types of birds as slingshot fodder to attack evil green pigs and their dwellings would catch on … more
Super Mario Bros. has been considered a classic in the world of videogames, and rightfully so. Despite its 8 bit limitations, this game brought about a lot of fun, replayability, decent graphics (for its time), a catchy soundtrack, and challenge that's all balanced perfectly. I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best of all the Mario games, but this is still a superb … more
Overview Bioshock: Infinite is an FPS-RPG developed by Irrational Games, creators of System Shock 2, Bioshock and Freedom Force. One of the most anticipated titles of the year and recommended playing for anybody that liked the first Bioshock, or any shooter for that matter. Story Introduction and Premise You are Booker DeWitt, former Pinkerton agent deeply … more
I've heard that people don't really like this game and that it was like a "prototype". I, personally, think that it's a really good game. I haven't tried the other AC game's, but I soon hope to get AC2.
