Today we know the NES Controller as the controller that defined video game controllers for all time. While the deceptively simple controller has a design both ubiquitous and iconic enough to be a popular graphic image, we forget just what a giant leap it represented in the way we control our video games. Of course, our rose goggles for the little Nintendo machine that brought the video game industry … more
Pros: The grip is very natural Cons: The d-pad is nothing but a decoration The Bottom Line: This controller is maligned. Here's a revisionist view of it which argues that it is one of the most important controllers to come along. The Nintendo 64 controller may be the most irony-loaded devices the world of video gaming has … more
Pros: Plastic isn't wasted... Cons: ...Because the controller is small and feels like a pill The Bottom Line: Still not understanding why people love this thing so much. God bless the controller hand grip. I don't know when these little but essential additions to video game controllers showed up first, but god bless their inventor. … more
When Donkey Kong Country became a huge, runaway hit for the Super NES (as if it could ever have been a failure), you had to know more was right down the line. Would video game-playing adults like to have a version of Donkey Kong Country to carry around with them as they traveled? Of course they would! The practical problem, though, was that all Nintendo really had as a portable console at the time … more
The Mushroom Kingdom are celebrating Princess Peach's birthday in the castle. They bring her a giant cake, but the surprise inside is less than appealing when Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings spring their trap and abduct her. RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Angry Birds.
April 01
When I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet (10.1 inch model) last November, I had to download Angry Birds off Google Play's store. This game is like crack. This game is fun, but it's too addicting. Who would have thought that a game where you use various types of birds as slingshot fodder to attack evil green pigs and their dwellings would catch on … more
Doctor Doom of the Marvel Universe joins forces with Albert Wesker of the Capcom Universe, in an attempt to take over both worlds. The heroes representing both of these realities unite to stop them. But there's a greater menace approaching that threatens the very existence of these worlds.-summary Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a sequel that was long over-due. It … more
Super Mario Bros. has been considered a classic in the world of videogames, and rightfully so. Despite its 8 bit limitations, this game brought about a lot of fun, replayability, decent graphics (for its time), a catchy soundtrack, and challenge that's all balanced perfectly. I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best of all the Mario games, but this is still a superb … more
Overview Bioshock: Infinite is an FPS-RPG developed by Irrational Games, creators of System Shock 2, Bioshock and Freedom Force. One of the most anticipated titles of the year and recommended playing for anybody that liked the first Bioshock, or any shooter for that matter. Four words: I LOVE VIDEO GAMES!!!!! I thank you, world for having video games in our lives, because that is the greatest invention ever. I hope you all reading this feel the same and agree with me. :)
I've heard that people don't really like this game and that it was like a "prototype". I, personally, think that it's a really good game. I haven't tried the other AC game's, but I soon hope to get AC2.
Beware the Machine Mother. Released in 1998, the influence of this FPS/RPG is still being felt today, especially in the Dead Space and BioShock games (the BioShock series being led by Ken Levine who worked on this game, the gameplay between the two games are incredibly similar) You awake from cryogenic sleep into a derelict spaceship. All around you … more
19 fighters enter a martial arts tournament for different reasons. Ryu and Ken hope to settle their rivalry, the demonic warrior Akuma, whom completely mastered their style wants nothing more then a death match with anyone worthy enough to face him. And Interpol agent Chun-Li who helped bring down M. Bison's Shadowloo organization finds herself up against a new one; each of the fighters have reasons … more
My favorite thought about playing the original Ratchet and Clank was, "Finally, an actually, honest to god mind numbing action title!" Thankfully, it turned out to be more than a hiccup. It turned into a semi-iconic video game series for the Playstation 2, and one of the last identifiable console mascots. (Although their being a console mascot has more to do with them being exclusives on Sony's machine … more
While I admit nostalgia may colour my perception of this game, to me this is one of the best platformers ever released, while nowadays it might be a bit easy for some gamers, the music, the artstyle, the 'wacky' level design, it all came together to form one amazing experience. Platformer fans owe themselves to try this game, or any of the previous titles. A shame the franchise went downhill … more

Ah...the Sony PlayStation! One of the few things my dad actually did for me was introduce me to this console growing up. I have been playing video games since I could ever walk and talk. I have always been a Nintendo kid before, my first console was a NES. Atari was before my time so the only Atari I knew was at the arcade. After a while I got my SNES. When it was time for the N64 to come out, I already … more

I would say this is most certainly one of the greatest puzzle games out there, and like all the great puzzle games it has a simple premise with fantastic gameplay. You control a beach-ball, and you have to collect keys to unlock the exit. The catch is you have to negotiate your way through bizarre 3D structures avoiding traps and other assortment of hazards. The music is pleasant, the stage design … more

YodaSan2 posted a Quick Tip about Legend of Zelda.
November 10, 2012
Note: I will try to post more often but not so much in this community at the moment. I have roms on the Wii that I can use to review some older Nintendo games and can buy them on the virtual console, but as is the definite case for the Genesis, I don't have the older consoles, so I can honestly review a game until I have played it recently. I'm sure you can understand that I can't … more

RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Shaq-Fu (SNES).
October 17, 2012
Easily among the worst videogames ever made. The 90's was Shaq's decade to throw his image all over the place, and not even the videogame world was safe, since this absolute disgrace to fighting games came out in 1994. Take away the absurd storyline of Shaq fighting a bunch of supernatural creatures, and you got yourself a fighting game with horrible, horrible … more
