During the mid 90's Capcom was dodging an actual SF sequel like crazy, and just kept basically putting out the same game. Street Fighter lost my interest until the Alpha series, in which, this game was originally billed as the prequel to Street Fighter II.

Street Fighter Alpha was a major improvement as it took the Super Specials from Super SF II Turbo, and got a lot more creative. The combo system was far more intricate, and I enjoyed the rival boss battles. An excellent game for the fighting fan.
