Drivers, start your engines! Nintendo is bringing Mario and his friends with their finely tuned racing machines back and this time to the Nintendo Wii. With 3 different control styles and a Wii Wheel included in the box, Mario Kart Wii is bound to … see full wiki
I haven't been crazy about the Wii Wheel so far. My friends and I played Mario Kart on the other systems incessantly, but we just can't seem to get hooked on this game with the Wii wheel. The turning is very often wide. I wouldn't say it's difficult to control, but it isn't easy. Of course, you can use the control pad as well. Unless you're a real racing fan, you should probably rent this first and see how you like it.
I would have thought that he was too young to really enjoy it, but the kid had most courses unlocked within the first week. However, there are new players for him to earn, which keeps him involved. You do have to unlock many of the courses, but since he has them unlocked, now we can all play on his if we want to. The courses are fairly intuitive, so even when I play with him on a new (to me) course, I don't completely bomb. A fun game for the whole family.
This game is a BLAST!! My son requested it, and we all have a ball playing it! The graphics combined with the Wii play is so convincing that you will feel as if you are truly driving....really, really fast. I definitely get dizzy at times when playing this game; at first I attributed it to age, but my 10-year-old son says that he at times gets dizzy also. Great fun, and well worth the money. DYB
