THE SIMPSONS have had other video games in the past. Some were entertaining, while others were ho-hum. THE SIMPSONS GAME tries to do what THE SIMPSONS do best and parodies and mocks pop culture. Being a video game, the game parodies other video games. There's a fantasy world level (think EVERQUEST), a GTA-themed level, and a battle combat level (ala the MEDAL OF HONOR series). Overall, the game was good. It had it's faults as well however. Graphics: The games graphics are intended to place 2 dimensional characters in a 3D world similar to many recent comic book games. It does this very well at times. During cutscenes, however, the artistry is horrible. Occasionally, the cartoon cutscenes are nice enough to come strait from the simpson's movie. This is going to be short. I RARELY play video games, but this one had a base conceptual appeal to me. I insisted on getting it when we ordered our Xbox. I've hardly managed to get through much of it. As usual I'm flummoxed by the seemingly easiest of obstacles to overcome (How long did it take me to jump the donuts to the cake?? Don't ask).
