Amazing graphics, sound quality and maps. Wide variety of weapon choices with attachments and perks to unlock

  • Apr 4, 2011
Overall I think Call of Duty Black Ops is a lot of fun. The single player missions are amazingly detailed and very challenging to complete on the harder levels. On the easiest level you might be able to beat the game in only a couple of days. I would challenge you to try on the more difficult levels for a more interesting game. Black Ops offers one of the best single player campaigns that I have ever played. The campaign mode keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire game. There really isn't a boring part of it. There are loads of weapons to utilize and an ever-changing maps and environment. The maps are very detailed and brilliant in every aspect.

The online multi-player brings allows you to play with or against others in a mix of different game modes. There are a wide range of maps to play and you can purchase more with the First Strike map pack. The online mode is great but it can be frustrating for newer players who haven't unlocked many of the weapons and perks. This can give the veteran players a huge advantage. But in time you will unlock new weapons and get better at the game. I like online game play but I get tired of respawn all the time. I wish there were more options to play without respawn where you only live once per round in a game mode like demolition where you can communicate with your teammates and use some type of strategy. Anyone can play respawn and get some kills but I like something a little more challenging.

This game also has Zombie mode that you can play co-op online with up to 4 players or you can play on your own. In this mode the goal is to survive for as many rounds as possible and there is no end to this game mode. Every round will be become increasingly more difficult. This game mode will really get your adrenaline flowing and is both very satisfying and very frustrating at times. As you kill Zombies you will earn points. These points can be used to purchase weapons and upgrades while you play. There is also a mystery box that you can purchase and it will give you a random weapon, some of them are great and others are horrible. Playing Zombies with my friends is my favorite part of this game and it can really be addictive to play. You will start the game with one map available to play and you will unlock another map when you beat the game. There is also a code that you can lookup online that will allow you to gain access to the 2nd map right away. If you purchase the First Strike map pack then you will gain access to the third map. If you own the Prestige or Hardened edition of the game then you will also get the Zombie maps from Call of Duty World at War.
