Outstanding Workout For Wii Enthusiasts!!

  • Jan 20, 2010
You will find 'Gold's Gym Cardio Workout' in the bargain bin at any place that sells games, but don't let the price mislead you on an exceptional title that if used religiously will shed the pounds and get you moving!! When I got my Wii I was looking for options that would enable me to workout at home as I needed a way to get off my rear. Having done karate for 5 years I had been getting the exercise I needed, but after deciding to take a leave of absence from the dojo, I started to gain weight and laziness. I stumbled upon Cardio Workout kind of by mistake and boy am I glad that I did!!

Not only was the price right at under $20, this game that I would have assumed was a dunce was programmed exceptionally. There are prepared workouts to choose from, laid back exercise routines like mitt work and jumping rope, and to motivate the players, when you achieve goals or punch counts you get 'gold' which lets you buy outfits and stuff in the game.

Add on some wrist weights and if you do this seriously enough you will sweat away the pounds and have fun while doing it!!

As with any Wii game, what you get out of it is what you put into it. If you don't take the exercises seriously and cheat by doing them on your couch you will not get any benefit from this. But if you respect what the game is trying to do and listen to the virtual trainer on the screen you will see greater results than you could imagine!!

My favorite exercise routine for Wii Fit regular is the rhythmic boxing, and Gold's Gym takes this to the next level. The way the game teaches you how to box is dead on accurate with all the martial arts I've ever learned, and this is coming from someone with 15 years of martial arts experience including  Tai Chi, Wu Shu, Capoeira, Tai Kwon Do and Mixed Martial Arts. The 6 types of punches, the dodges, the rhythm and footwork are all first rate.  Not to mention this game really kicks your …

One of the major weaknesses of wii fit is the quality of the aerobics/cardio workouts, in my opinion. I have found that Gold's Gym Cardio Workout is the perfect complement to a workout with wii fit. I finish the Gold's Gym workout tired, sweaty, and a little sore everyday.     The game is basically cardioboxing. Moving to a rhythm, the player performs various punches and footwork as indicated onscreen. There are tons of different workouts of various intensity, or you can have …
