The Game that never ends

Old fashioned side scrolling with depth., and a million levels. Well the later is a bit of an exaggeration but not by much. Little Big Planet by Media Molecule is one of the great and most original games that has been created. Easy to play but even non playing grand parents get a chuckle out of watching a sack person run through the world.

Little Big Planet is a a user generated game every day there are new levels that are being created buy hundreds if not thousands of people all over the world. Some are boring and others are so freaking maddening that you end up going back to your Pod just to save your sanity, and your controller, and your 52" plasma. Many are very awe inspiring and you wonder how that person got a particular item to move that way, or you see something that just inspires you to have to try building a level yourself. And the building just ramped up because they released the new Pirates of the Caribbean Level builder that has Water! So Folks get you imagination going.

As I said this game is an incredible concept that has already spawned a similar game that is coming out soon called Mod Nation which you build your own race track and share it with the world.

I love this world!

I love this game. I feel like there could be an entire community built around rating and reviewing the custom levels created by users. As it is, it's really tough to navigate and filter out the junk levels.

Little Big Planet is essentially two different applications in one   1) An incredibly addictive and accessible platforming side-scroller    2) A powerful physics engine and game development system  The game starts out with a few simple levels which act as the introduction and tutorial for the game. The controls consist of the standard left stick for movement along with one button for "jump" and another for "grab" -- super easy, right?  You play as a "Sackboy" which looks like …

Time and time again we've talked more about the potential of the PS3 than about the quality games on the system itself. When we begin to talk about the PS3 years later, one game will stand out as being among the best in the library: Little Big Planet. The platformer genre seems like a dying breed. Little Big Planet makes platforming fun again. It's a big expansive game that anyone can pick up and play. Best of all, it can be customized in almost every way.       In Little Big …

Little Big Planet is the first game I got with my new PS3 and I am instanly hooked. The game play is very unique. You get to create your own little character, then explore all these crazy levels, picking up new outfits, designs, and other creative tools along the way. You get to customize your character, create new levels, and even add to exisiting levels with stickers. You can connect the eye camera to add images of yourself or whatever you would like. The best feature, however, is the online gaming. …

LBP is a great co- op game filled with inventive graphics and character customization. I was lucky enough to demo the game at comic con last year and I was hooked. The game is fun for all ages.

About this video game

Wiki

LittleBigPlanet, sometimes abbreviated to LBP and developed under the title The Next Big Thing, is a puzzle platformer and user generated content video game for the PlayStation 3, first announced on 7 March 2007, by Phil Harrison at the 2007 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. It is developed by Media Molecule, a British company founded in part by Rag Doll Kung Fu creator Mark Healey, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

The game revolves around the player's control of small avatars, known as Sackboys owing to their appearance, in a variety of platforming scenarios. Though the game features a set of pre-built levels for players to explore, of equal importance is the game's customisable nature, from altering the player's character and personal space, to building entirely new objects and levels, and then sharing and playing them online as part of the LittleBigPlanet community.
