Nintendo DS Games Will Help Your Kids Pass the Time Of Day.

  • Jan 10, 2011
Having a Nintendo DS game around for your children to play with is the perfect remedy for a children's boredom. One of the first games that we got for our daughter was "Mariokart" , which can be found at Best Buy for only 9.99, because it is several years old. This is not a bad price for a kid game with good graphics.

Main Idea
There is several different characters and cars that the kids race with, ten of each. The kids can either race by themselves or race all of them together. They can also have multiple players playing at one time. The main idea of this game is to go three laps the quickest and receive the best time.

First Divisions of the Game and Cups.
The first division is called Nitro Grand Prix. This game has different divisions that involve Missions, Balloon Battles, and Shine runners. The first cup is the Mushroom Cup and it has four races under this section which are the Figure 8, Yoshi Falls, Cheap Cheap Beach, and Luigi's Mansion road races.

The second cup is called the Flower Cup and it also has four divisions under it, they are Desert Hills, Delfino Square, Waluigi Pinball, and Shroom Ridge road races.

The third cup is called The Starter Cup and has 4 races in this division and they are DK pass, Tick-Tock Clock, Mario Circuit, and Airship Fortress.

The fourth cup is called The Special Cup, this consists of 4 races called Wario Stadium, Peach Gardens, Bowser Castle, and Rainbow Road.

Second Division
This is called the Retro Grandprix, the first cup is called The Shell Cup,  and the races that are in this are Mario Circuit 1, Moo-Moo Farm, Peach Circuit, and Luigi's Circuit road races.

The second cup is the Banana Cup and the four races that this has is Donut Plains 1, Frappy Snowland, Bowser Castle 2, and Baby Park road races.

The third cup is The Leaf Cup and the 4 races under this cup is Koop-a-Beach, Choco Mountain, Luigi Circuit, and Mushroom Bridge races.

The fourth cup in this division is The Lightning Cup and this includes Choco Island 2, Banshee Boardwalk, Sky Garden, an Yoshi circuit road races.

There are 6 levels for all the Missions, Balloon Battles, and Shine runners, and all racing games. Included with all of these races they have Grand Prix Time Trials VS Battle Missions. A couple of other notes about this game is that you can connect this to WI-FI and you can also register your friends.  Our daughter enjoys hours of fun and excitement with this game. She really enjoys the graphics and color animation that Nintendo has to offer.

Pros: Good opportunity for multiplaying via Wifi or wirelessly     Cons: You never feel like you are going fast in the game     The Bottom Line: If you are into racing by yourself the slowness of the graphics can be annoying, but if you are into multiplaying then this game can be a lot of fun.     This is not the best Mario Kart game, but it still is worth playing if you like racing games. The basics of the game are very similar to the …

About this video game

Mario Kart DS (マリオカートDS Mario Kāto Dī Esu?) is a racing game developed and published by Nintendo. It was released for the Nintendo DS handheld game console in North America, Australia, and Europe on November 14, 2005, and in Japan on December 8, 2005. The game is the fifth installment in the Mario Kart series of video games, and the first to be playable via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online service. Like other games in the series, Mario Kart DS features characters from the Mario series, and pits them against each other as they race in karts on tracks based on locations in the Mario series.

The game was well received, receiving an aggregated score of 91% from Metacritic. Praise focused on the game's graphics and gameplay, while criticism targeted its repetitive single-player mode. Mario Kart DS received several awards, including Editors' Choice Awards from GameSpot and IGN, G-Phoria's Best Handheld Game award, and IGN's Best Racing/Driving Game and Game of the Year awards for 2005. In the United States, Mario Kart DS was the best-selling game in its first month of release, and also held that position the following month. Overall, Mario Kart DS is the sixth best-selling game for the Nintendo DS as of December 2010, with 20.70 million units sold worldwide.
