Super fun to play , graphics and gameplay is awesome but wish it had manual transmission and full steering wheel support

I am a long time fan of the need for speed series. Every Need for Speed is different and some are obviously better than others. I loved the realism of Need for Speed Shift. I thought that it really delivered as a true driving simulation. It had full steering wheel / pedal support and the force feedback makes you feel like you are really racing while using my Logitech G27 Racing Wheel.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit doesn't deliver at the same level at all when compared side by side. First of all it doesn't have manual transmission which was very disappointing to me. I got over it in time but I don't understand why they wouldn't have included this as an option. It's much more exciting to race with manual transmission instead of automatic. It also doesn't fully support my steering wheel which is another huge drawback. That being said, I still love this game.

The graphics are incredible and second to none in my opinion. The cars are very realistic and the tracks are very detailed and brilliant.

The offline races are exciting because not only do you compete to complete your objective and finish the race in time. You also compete to finish the race faster than your friends. As you start each race it will give you the times for each of the friends in your friends list that have completed the race. You can challenge their time and beat it and then the Autolog feature will post that information online for them to see and they will receive a message saying that you have beat their time. You have a wall on Autolog that is like facebook. As people beat your time it will post to your wall for you to see. If you beat their time it will post to their wall as well. It basically enables you to play against your friends even while they are offline.

There are 60+ cars that you can unlock by racing either online or offline. Many of the cars can be used as both cops and racers. Most all of the cars are exciting and there are so many exotic cars to choose from. There are several different classes of cars so you can choose what level of performance you want. If you purchase the limited edition version of the game then you will get a couple extra cars.

The online mode is the best part of this game. There are three different modes to play with between 2-8 players. There is normal race mode with between 2-8 players. There is interceptor mode which is only 2 players and where one person is the racer and the other is the cop and the cop must bust the racer. Then there is my favorite which is Hot Pursuit which is between 2-8 players where there is two teams. For example 4 cops and 4 racers and at least one of the racers must finish the race to win. If the cops bust all racers then they win. This is a blast to play online with your friends. As a racer you have spike strips, turbo, EMP and Jam as additional resources to use. As a cop you have spike strips, helicopter, road blocks and EMP to use. All things considered it makes for an incredible chase experience that I could play all night long.

As I mentioned previously there are a few things that they could have done to make the game better but I still love playing the game and I am so glad that I got it.
