The Force Unleashed is what the Star Wars Prequels SHOULD have been

The sequel to the Star Wars: Force Unleashed video game is just about to be released, but if you haven't played the original game in this series, now is a great time to pick it up. Not only will it give you the full backstory to the new game, but you should also be able to find it at a really good price. The Force Unleashed makes up for (just about) every bad Star Wars licensed game that came out before it -- sorry, but Obi-Wan should have never been released.

You play as Darth Vader's apprentice doing his bidding throughout the galaxy. However, your character is conflicted between serving his master or doing "good". This video game has more emotion and depth than the three Star Wars prequel movies, and a much more compelling story. The writers were given a bit of freedom to change a few things around in the Star Wars lore, but throughout the entire game, you always feel deeply engrossed in the Star Wars universe.

The gameplay in this game is as good as the story. For the first time in a Star Wars game, you feel like you have full control of the lightsaber along with a huge arsenal of "Force Powers" you can unlock throughout the game. If the developers could find a way to incorporate the control and intensity of this game with the new Playstation Move and Xbox Kinect motion controllers, than you can expect to see a whole new wave of "Star Wars Kid" videos on YouTube... myself included. But even without waving my arms around frantically, I thoroughly enjoyed how connected I felt controlling the main character.

This game is the perfect blend of Star Wars and video games, so if you have any interest in both, you should definitely check this out.
