Girl Scout Cookies 2010

March is finally here!  And you know what that means?  Girl Scout cookies :D  When I heard a friend had placed her order, I immediately looked up the Girl Scout Cookies Locator.  Sneaky them requires users to provide an email address in order to look it up.  Now, I don't usually give out my email address like that, but this was important!

I found out some valuable information, too -- there's a new cookie in town called Thank U Berry Much and the Dulce De Leche has been revamped!  The cookies are being sold/delivered from March 5th to March 21st, so Girls Scouts, watch out!  I'm stocking up :)

Below are the eight Girl Scout cookies being sold this year so that you can, ya know, plan accordingly ;)
Made with natural peppermint, these are thin, little wafers of happiness. I prefer to put mine in the freezer (as many people seem to love doing, too!). I also like making mini ice cream sandwiches by putting mint ice cream in between two of these. They make great ice cream toppers, too :)
Can you say trifecta of amazingness? Doesn't get much better than a cookie topped with caramel, chocolate and coconut flakes! I love it when I crack them in half when they're at room temperature and a caramel trail forms :D
Another winning combination of ingredients -- gooey peanut on a cookie coated in chocolate. It's like a Reese's peanut butter cup, except in cookie form! An amazing ice cream topper as well.
As if oatmeal cookies weren't already good and enticing enough on their own, Girl Scouts had to sandwich some peanut butter in between them and slap a cute name on them to seal the deal.
There's a new Dulce De Leche in town this year -- it looks like the same cookie, except minus the caramel stripes on top. I guess that makes them healthier and I can eat a few more? It still has caramel chips in it, fortunately ;)
Mmmmm, the classic shortbread. This is probably the simplest of all Girl Scout cookies. Nothing wrong with that! Its buttery and crumbly goodness is more than welcome on my palette.
Not my absolute favorite, but I still dig them! It's a sandwich vanilla cookies that give off a hint of cinnamon-ginger spice with a tangy, lemon filling. I've never had anything like them before.
Thank U Berry Munch
The totally new cookies in town and I cannot wait to try them! Get this -- they've got crispy rice for crunch, cranberries for tartness and sweetness, and white fudge chips for more sweetness. Have I gotten you drooling yet? :P

What did you think of this list?

You just HAD to include scrumptious looking pictures and detailed descriptions of each of the cookies didn't you? Uhh Oh...! With them Tagalongs and Somoas out on the prowl...it's good bye waste line and HELLO love handles! ;-)

I've tried all of em except for the Dulce de Leche, Trefoils, & Thank U Berry Munch. That last one looks like it could be a contender for my favorite girl scout cookie EVAR. ;P
March 03, 2010
I've had everyone except for the two new ones. This year, I'm going to be picking up the top three, plus the two new ones ;D

Like yourself, just about everyone has the same top 3 favorites-samoas, tagalongs and thin mints. Interesting.  I even made my favorite Girl Scout cookies list as well Clay's Favorite Girl Scout cookies.  Good stuff.
March 03, 2010
Totally. I wouldn't mind if Girl Scouts sold just those three!

March 03, 2010
not exactly but c'mon...Girl scout cookies, lady D! I'll be surprised if you didn't make this list ;-P

Enjoyed your list. I certainly would agree with your Top 3 though I might be tempted to put the Samoas at the top of the list. I remember when I was a kid when the Samoas first appeared on the market. They were available at stores and called "Yes Yes" cookies. Think the only place you can get them now is from the Girl Scouts.

Thanks, Paul! It was tough call between the top two! And that's interesting to hear a bit about the history of these treats :)
