Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
*** out of ****    Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" stylistically reverses the intentions that we are to expect from both cinematic and non-cinematic outings starring everyone's favorite titular sleuth. While we're used to an intelligent, perplexing labyrinth of a mystery; Ritchie's attempted "update" on the character and the "Sherlock Holmes" universe itself presents us with a …

Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
Several years ago my brother introduced me to the films of Guy Ritchie. Fun stories, insane amounts of gun fire and some serious profanity. I remember getting my first taste of Jason Statham and not being able to contain my excitement when a fight was about to break out on screen and he was in the scene. Sherlock Holmes brings elements of past Ritchie films and incorporates the style with a classic …

Sherlock Holmes Faces Death
Sherlock Holmes, who was born January 6, 1854, came out of retirement in 1942, at the request of Universal Pictures, to pursue WWII arch criminals who had been threatening Britain and frightening aristocratic young women.       Now 88, Holmes uses a substance much like Botox, with hair dye and a high fiber diet, to maintain that familiar appearance so many have commented on, …

Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
A little slow and boring to start but it gets better and has a very good and unexpected ending. Worth the watch for sure.

Sherlock Holmes
Pros: fun adventure, good action, great cast, well presented     Cons: storyline weak and unchallenging to viewers     The Bottom Line: With proper development, a focused attention to detail, and greater attention paid to delivering a more challenging storyline, this could become a wonderful beginning to a great trilogy.          …

Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
I'm just going to have to admit I'm a Robert Downey Jr. fan. In Sherlock Holmes he plays a quirky, borderline mad scientist, genius in the title role. The casting for the film was perfect. Jude Law is exceptional as the uptight and torn Dr. Watson.      The mystery is creative and nicely twisted. Sarcastic modernesque dialog and character interaction …

Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
Down and dirty update of the classic literary hero hase Sherlock Holmes and a not so dumb Doctor Watson investigate a black magician's apparent return from the grave. The story is full of deus ex machina for building up an expalnation later but it's still fun and Robert Downey Jr is great.

Always an entertaining read and sometimes a headache no matter how many times you've read the same thing. Try to keep up with Sherlock Holmes and you just might get lost in his whirlwind of knowledge.

Sherlock Holmes (2009 movie)
Entertaining. Downey Jr and Law play off each other really well. Film looks and sounds great. Story is too weak though, and it runs out of steam way before the predictable climax. Feels like a starter before the main meal. Hopefully, the sequel will be far more nourishing.
