This time 6 years ago, I had a slight roach problem. Several sprays I have used prior to trying this, I found myself sometimes just wasting spray by using so much to kill a single roach. At times, I thought these bugs were lifting weights or something. On top of that, the spray would also leave a smell that would linger for a few minutes which was very irritating to my nose. My father recommended this can of Fragrance Free Raid to me and I was hesitant on trying it. The reason was because the older versions of this spray also had a very annoying smell that would stick around for awhile. Fortunately, this brand seems to be a huge improvement when compared to the previous ones.

I now have quite a bit of experience with this brand, and it's now the only one I use. This brand of Raid is listed as having no chemical odor. This is indeed true, I have used entire cans in one shot on badly infested areas, and there wasn't the slightest bit of a bad smell. Therefore, it lives up to its claim in that area.

The spray also claims to kill ants and roaches on contact, this is also very true, as I have experience in this area as well. It also kills more than that. The first time I used it, I saw a roach quickly run underneath my printer. I fired off a burst and missed it completely. Suddenly, about three seconds later, the roach frantically ran out from under the printer and died instantly.

Recently, in a very badly infested apartment I exterminated in, I used the spray underneath a tenants sink. The roaches began to run from all places and were dying almost instantly. The ones that didn't, were obviously very sick, and were falling off the walls. The spray also leaves a residue that continues killing. While still working in the apartment 2 hours later, there were still roaches dying the entire time. One thing is for sure, it does what it says in regards to roaches, but the four week kill claim isn't true concerning them.

In one of my basements, I also had a small issue with ants. There appeared to be a small colony in the crevice of one of the doors. I sprayed the area until it was completely soaked, killing all of the ants on contact. Since then, I haven't seen an ant in my basement, and this was back in Spring last year. I also used the spray on fire-brats with the same quick death results.

This is definitely a very good spray. Back in May of last year, I went to Puerto Rico on vacation, and I left one of the windows open on my rental car overnight. The next morning the car was infested with mosquitos. I really didn't have a choice, so I decided to use the first thing in grabbing distance, which happened to be this can of Raid. I sprayed a good amount into the car and closed it up. This was around 8 in the morning. I came back around 9, and every last mosquito was dead. The car didn't have the slightest scent of the spray. Although the results on mosquito's was promising. I never used it on them in open areas, so I don't exactly know if it kills them on contact.

In the same house I was staying, my aunt had a problem with salamanders. I used it on them just to see the results, and it worked on them as well. Now she uses the spray also. However, there was one thing I noticed in regards to her roaches. The results were initially good but they slowly came back, because she wasn't very clean. At least the problem wasn't as bad as before.

The can mentions that the spray could be hazardous to pets. Since I don't have any, and neither did the people whose homes I used it in, I can't comment on the claim. I also haven't used it in close vicinity of plants, so I don't know the effect it would have on them either.

I haven't witnessed anyone being sprayed in the face or eyes. Therefore, I don't know of any damage it may cause. However, as all products that could be dangerous, the spray has first aid directions should something like that occur.

The spray fires out of the can in a straight stream. But it didn't have to make physical contact with any of the pest I used it on. However, I did learn through constant use, that the stream will eventually go away, and the spray will spread. But when I stopped using it for a while, I guess the spray would settle, and it would go back to firing in a stream. Later, I did learn after shaking it, the spray would fire in a spread. But I do prefer the stream though.

The one issue that I encountered was breaking the spray button, and the can was useless afterwards. But I think it was probably dropped in the store and I just didn't check it.

I was told once that a can of this spray exploded in someones hand. But the person who said this is a pathological liar, and I'll believe him as quick as someone who told me they grew carrots out of a garbage can. So I don't buy the story.

The number one thing that can't be forgotten though, is to think where you would be if you were a roach. For best results, spray under the bathroom and kitchen sinks, all small cracks, inside and around cabinets, underneath coffee makers and toasters while they're off, behind and undernath the refrigarator and freezers. Make sure you cover up or move all dishes, toothbrushes, and razors. Don't spray anywhere near a flame, or hot stoves and microwaves.

After using the spray for this long, I can only say that it's my spray of choice. The results have been promising for me, but it's not the cure for a roach problem. The only cure is cleanliness, but it can make the job a bit easier when coming around to it. The spray also comes in a lemon scent which is also pretty nice. Highly recommended.

-Doesn't have a strong and irritating smell, leaves residue that continues to kill

-Can is worthless if spray button is broken, the effects don't last very long
