About drifter51
I guess I would qualify as a frustrated writer.  My work requires very little writing and so since 1999 I have been writing reviews on non-fiction books and anthology CD's on amazon.com.  I never could get into fiction.  To my way of thinking the real world is so much more interesting!  I enjoy books on history, politics, the environment, disasters, music and medicine etc. etc....  I am always open to exploring interesting new topics although sometimes I struggle with terminology.  However, I find that if you do not least make an attempt to learn about new subjects you will never expand your horizons.  Although I am  a pretty conservative guy I generally part company with conservatives on a great many environmental issues.  Aside from reading and reviewing non-fiction books I also love to review anthology CD's.  I have been collecting popular music for over 40 years now.  I have an extensive personal music collection that includes CD's, LP's, 45's and MP3's.  When reviewing on lunch.com, I generally try to look over the available options and review what I perceive to be the best available collection of any given artist.

It would appear that I am a bit older than the average person on this site but that's OK.  Likewise I would classify myself as a Goldwater conservative which definitely puts me in the distinct minority here.  But hopefully, my reviews and discussions will add yet another dimension to lunch.com.   I really do make a conscious effort to read all sides of issues and to expose myself to new and exciting topics.  I promise to keep my reviews and discussions civil at all times and look forward to engaging many of you on the important issues of our time.   I have really been extremely impressed with everyone associated with lunch.com since I came aboard nearly two years ago.  I am truly excited to be here!

My wife Molly  and I have been married for 25 years now and we reside in Cranston, RI which is a suburb of Providence,   Aside from reading and collecting music I am a huge baseball fan.  My buddies and I have been playing a tabletop baseball game called APBA Pro Baseball for more than 40 years!  Each game takes about 20 minutes and you actually play the games.  So much better than rotisserie if you have the time!  Also, I must admit that I am not nearly as computer savvy as most of you.  It took me quite a while just to learn how to upload photos!   Nothing to it!   If you are new to lunch.com I welcome you and urge you to give it a try.   I for one am having a ball!
