These are a few of my least favorite things.

We all have our likes and dislikes. We really are the product of our own unique life experiences, Some are based on logic while others are purely emotional. What follows is my list of some of the things that I dislike the most. You will probably agree with some and vehemently disagree with others. Hopefully some will make you chuckle while others will give you some food for thought. Perhaps my list will inspire you to do a list of your own. My list in presented in no particular order. Enjoy!
Conspicuous Consumption
I hate those who flaunt their wealth. This behavior was rampant during the decade of the 1980's and to some degree in the period leading up to the financial meltdown of 2008.
I have never been but I have read and seen enough about it to know that this is one of the last places on earth I would ever want to visit. The congestion, the noise, the gambling etc etc etc. So many things i despise all in one place. Count me out!
See the full review, "Never been there, never done that and probably never will.".
dollar sign
I can't believe how much people are willing to pay to see concerts, shows and major league sporting events. Working stiffs like myself have been largely priced right out of many of these activities. I am not about to pay $200 for a ticket to an NBA game.
See the full review, "Ticket prices for concerts and sporting events will never come down until consumers wise up!".
This may fall into the category of "purely emotional" but tattoos have always been a huge turn-off for me. I guess I'm in the minority on this these days but I have disliked them intensely since I was a kid.
See the full review, "The argument against tattoos.".
I really don't care how these people live, what they wear or what their politics are. I never quite understood the public's fascination with celebrities. I find that there are always far better ways to spend my time that worrying about what these people are doing or saying.
See the full review, "I take a great deal of pride in not knowing who most of these people are.".
Musical Improvisation
I certainly can understand why musicians dig watching other musicians improvise during a performance. But I am not a musician and frankly I find it rather annoying. I think this might be one reason why I am not a big fan of jazz. When I am at a concert and this happens I keep asking myself if this is ever going to end. GIve me the familiar, the tried and true. Definitely a personal preference here.
This network lost all credibility with me a few years ago. Frankly I don't believe a word that is uttered on MSNBC. With such abysmal ratings they are really a non-factor in cable news.
I could never understand why this is so darn popular but there is no denying that it is. I guess it's a cultural thing but it is something I have absolutely no interest in.
See the full review, "Can somebody help me out here 'cause I just don't get it!".
Reception Lines
Absolute torture for all but a few of the people involved. My idea of hell would be an endless reception line.....I mean one that lasts for an eternity. Contemplate that one and your behavior just might improve!
Heavy metal music
A tiny bit of this stuff goes an awfully long way with me. I never liked this genre even as a teenager 40 years ago. Near or at the bottom of list of favorite musical genres.
Explicit Lyrics
And while we are discussing music I will add my disdain for explicit lyrics. I can't understand why people enjoy listening to this stuff and I am appalled when I learn of parents who let their kids listen to it. Totally unnecessary and a real turn-off for me.
See the full review, "It's a free country but I have absolutely no use for any of this stuff.".
Consumer Fireworks
Having just endured another 4th of July my disdain for this stuff has just been reinforced. My next door neighbor was killed by fireworks a couple of years ago. I just don't understand the attraction people have for these items. To my way of thinking a colossal waste of money!

Ha, I enjoyed reading this!  I agree with you on quite a few of these.  You know what I hate more than high ticket prices?  The "convenience" fees that are tacked on top of them.  Thanks for sharing, Paul!  By the way, I think this would go great in @jrjohnson's That's Beat community ;)

I'll have to agree on everything but #6! :)

Rap and hip hop make me look back almost wistfully on disco and heavy metal.

I guess I would qualify as a frustrated writer. My work requires very little writing and so since 1999 I have been writing reviews on non-fiction books and anthology CD's on amazon.com. I never could … more
