Pros: Great food; Excellent Service; Fun Atmosphere

Cons: Tourists abound

Whenever I travel to a big city, I always make an effort to dine at Planet Hollywood and/or the Hard Rock Cafe. During my recent trip to New Orleans with my mother, we had a meal at both restaurants.

We both much preferred the Hard Rock over Planet Hollywood. Clearly, other people feel the same way. While Planet Hollywood was empty, the Hard Rock was full. It wasn't packed - We only had a ten minute wait. During our wait, I visited their merchandise area (it's not a full shop) and purchased a few items. Their pins are really cool! I bought the Riverboat one for myself.

Soon, we were seated at a table right in front of all of this Elvis memorabilia. People kept looking over at our table and snapping pictures. Unfortunately, we were seated right by the entrance. Many people would just wander over and loom over us, reading everything that was on the wall. Well, what can you expect? It's a tourist trap.

Our waiter, Joel, was a sweetheart! He was very attentive, not to mention sweet, funny, and handsome. Our drinks were brought right over, and our order was taken immediately. Throughout the meal, Joel would frequently come check on us.

I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Mashed Potatoes and Gravy while Mom had the Veggie Sandwich. My entree was awesome! The potatoes are to die for - almost as good as Old Glory's in Washington, DC. The chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had. Mom said her sandwich was alright, although there were too many sprouts. Our portions were so large that neither one of us could finish.

The atmosphere is fun and casual, food is good, and service is fabulous. If you happen to visit the Big Easy, you should definitely try to dine at the Hard Rock Cafe! It's one of the best I've been to.

Pros: Pretty good food; lots of memorabilia to look at     Cons: Usually a line to be seated; Poor lighting     AS you may already know, I have been to Atlantic City on several occasions. As I have mentioned in several of my travel posts, I enjoy visiting both Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Cafe when I go to a city that has them. However, my most recent venture to the Boardwalk is the first time I've been to the Atlantic City Hard Rock Cafe.   …
