A meal fit for a third class King

I've been to one White Castle twice in Michigan.  My first visit was nice but the second, not so much.  While I have a "craving" to find another one of these hamburger havens and not opting for the store bought versions, I can also wait since I remember my visits.

White Caslte is famous for "buying them by the sackful" small little hamburgers about the size of a golfball but will leave a grease stain the size of a basketball if you threw them against a flat surface.  Let the grease slide them down your throat as you eat.

If you want to imagine the prep that goes into these burgers, imagine a long table length of ground beef with a pillow of onions on top plus a bun that gets cut by a cris cross metal cutter.  Cheese can come later if you want it.

While other items are on the menu, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, chicken rings and chicken ring sandwiches, the burgers are the niche.  onions and a pickle with a little bun covering it.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting hungry to try these again but White Castles are relegated to the midwest with the store bought kind being my only option if I had to have them again, but that could rob me of the best experience, the thick salty smell outside the restaurant, which was better then the food inside.

coldsteel7 says what I've heard someone make a joke about. Your gonna be on the toilet after eating them. I don't remember that happening to me but it's been a while.

Mmm, I don't eat here very often but when I do I always get a couple of double White Castles (add ketchup!) Great late-night snack

I've been to one twice and it smells better outside then the food tastes inside. Must be an aquired taste those little burgers.

Pros: Good for a quick bite.     Cons: Not very diet friendly friendly.     The Bottom Line: Would only recommend once or twice a year. For convenience and cleaning your system out. Also for some thing different.     Every one needs to cleanse their system at least once a year. Be it their body or the septic system. Both need doing. What is good for the soul is good for all other things. Every time that my wife gets sent home from work …
