Best Comic book flix

Deluxe Edition DVD cover
Best storyline and acting of all the comic book movies. It didn't feel cheesie like all its other predecessors. I also think Liam Neeson played a great Ra's al Ghul.
Sin City
This is probably the most underappreciated comic book flick out there. If you haven't seen this yet, I highly recommend to anyone. Unless you have a soft stomic for violence.
A great comic book movie as everyone would agree but nowhere close to that of Batman Begins and Sin City. I think they just gave it a lot more credit than it deserves because of the late Heath Ledger, who did a very great job of course.
punisher war zone poster
I know most people think I'm crazy for putting Punisher War zone as #4 above Iron Man but you have to watch it to understand. This is as violent as Sin City and I think it has a higher kill count than all the other movies on this list combined.
See the full review, "What an action movie should be about, ACTION!".
Iron Man
I don't know why, but I didn't think this movie was as great as everyone says it is. I mean I enjoyed it a lot, but just not as much as everyone said I would. Robert Downey Jr gave a great and hilarious performance, but other than that it was alright.
X-Men Origins Wolverine
Probably the best of the X-Men movies since they concentrated on Wolverine only and didn't put in the other boring characters. For some reason, I didn't really enjoy most of the x-men characters like cyclops and storm.
DVD front
Great action and special effects. Thats about all I can say about this movie but then again, thats really all I expect from a comic book flick most of the time.
DVD front
This is really the only spiderman I enjoyed. I felt the other 2 was catered towards kids more.
Hellboy Special Edition DVD
I actually never read the comic or even heard of it before when I watched this movie. But a big red guy running around with a huge fist fighting bad guys sounded pretty interesting so I gave it a shot.
Theatrical exhibition poster
A great vampire hunter flick. Not much more to say about it.
Batman (1989 film)
This was the first big budget comic book flick if I'm correct and I think it lived up to its expectation for its time. Of course now when I watch it again, its not as great compared to the last 2 batmans.
Poster for the film.
Kinda corny and I think they tried too hard to make Wesley Snipes look cool in this movie. But overall, still entertaining.

What did you think of this list?

Fun to Read

I don't know why but I just didn't enjoy any of the 3 original xmen. I guess I found a lot of the characters annoying and enjoyed wolverine. As for Howard the Duck, I actually enjoyed that movie when I was a kid hahahaha

Good list, though I was saddened that you left off Superman II with Christopher Reeve. Good going on the first Batman film!

you know to be honest with you, i don't remember which superman that was. i watched them at a very young age and i know i liked a couple of em, just don't remember which ones. i guess i gotta go watch them again. thanx for pointing that out

Sure. It's the second one when the Kryptonians break out of the Phantom Zone and beat up on Superman.  It is considered the best one, probably because Gene Hackman wasn't being an idiot.

X Men No. 1 should of at least bested Blade II. But, nonetheless, good list......
October 14, 2009
Thanx. But yea, it could've went either way on that one for me. But I think I had higher expectations for Xmen than Blade II so that might've affected my choice in the end.

Wait, no Catwoman???  Well, I guess Halle Berry got a Razzie for that for a reason :P  Awesome list, Jerry!
