Many SF fans collect comic books. Do you? What titles?

You and I have swapped on this one before, I think, so I'll just mention (for the others) that I used to hit the stores religiously during the 90's, but, probably in about 2001, I started pulling back because of a lotta little reasons. In short, after reading books for around 30 years, I just saw a lot of storylines blending together a bit, mirroring one another, and then somewhat morphing into a contemporary metrosexual take on life. I'm not interested so much in the "hero finding himself" stories as others are; I can dig a good origins story, but there has to be some really compelling reason for me to start up with any new characters. I started reading, mostly, graphic novel collections, and I've been able to make my peace with that. Title-wise, I'm all over the map, though Superman and Batman have always (and will always) remain favorite central characters.

No, I had someone who also claimed to be into SF actually get angry with me when I said I didn't read comics. I read them as a kid during the same period that I read SF but I never regarded them as comparable. These days science fiction, fantasy, comics, manga, anime, horror, video games all get lumped together. But then they complain about science education. That is the peculiar part about it.

I collect old Marvel and DC. Newer comics I leave to my son. Actually, I am a keeper of the old comics and no longer buy them unless I come across a gem at a yard sale where the owner is clueless.
