Ever since 7th grade when I read the short story, By the Waters of Babylon by Stephen Vincent Benet, I have enjoyed tales about post-apocalyptic societies. Jack McDevitt's Eternity Road is one such story and, while I don't think it is as good as some of McDevitt's other novels, it doesn't disappoint. "Eternity Road" Jack McDevitt's post apocalypse novel, while not his best work, is nevertheless completely engaging. I read the entire work within one day.This is a classic "quest" tale -- and, like many such quests, the answers at the journey's end are not quite what was expected by the participants in the quest.I found many (but not all) of the details believable.
