I met Lucianna Carro, who portrayed Louanne "Kat" Katraine on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, back in June of 2010 at a local science fiction convention. She was the guest of honor at the event. One of the first things I noticed about her was that she was very quiet and very reserved. On the day that I talked with her, Ms. Carro was very friendly and happily autographed a photo for me. We talked briefly about her time on Battlestar Galactica and also about her small role in the series Caprica.
We also talked a little bit about her time at the convention and in southwest Louisiana. She said that she had her first taste of gumbo the night before and really liked it.
Later in the day and on the next day of the convention, Carro participated in two Q&A sessions. She was happy to answer any and all questions about herself, her castmates, science fiction in general, and her time on the set of Battlestar Galactica.
I would later learn from a very reliable source that Ms. Carro was extremely nervous at the convention. She had never been the center of attention at such an event, always being part of an ensemble with other cast members. I believe she handled the pressure quite well, and look forward to seeing her again at another convention in the future.
