One of the Best Espionage Episodes of Either "Stargate" Series, "The Queen" is Quite Stealthy
Aug 5, 2009
Teyla agrees to disguise herself as a Wraith Queen after Todd agrees to Dr. Keller's proposal, giving the Wraith an enzyme that would take away their need to feed on humans. In order to see it through another Queen must make the ultimate decision, but Todd has other intentions. Unfortunately, things go wrong and it's up to Sheppard and the rest of the team to find Teyla, before she becomes a permanent spy.
There are some great episodes of both Stargateseries that involved espionage and spying, but this one was one of the best. Not only was it entertaining, but it also was educational from a point. In this episode you get to learn more about how the Wraith operate and just how their hierarchy functions. I thought it was interesting to find out that the Wraith are just as tricky as humans can be, playing numerous political games, always seeking more power.
Rachel Luttrell wearing all that Wraith make-up was honestly the best part of this episode. She was a little to believable as a Wraith Queen and say she hadn't gotten the role of Teyla, I think a permanent role as a Wraith Queen would have been second best. Despite the fact that she was still playing the character of Teyla, she did an amazing job in creating the Queen. Teyla already is an extremely strong woman and Luttrell took those qualities of the character and gave them to the Wraith Queen. A great scene in this episode is when Todd speaks out of turn in front of the Queen and Teyla drops him and puts him in his place. It was just awesome! The Episode is now on DVD and Stargate Atlantis is currently in Syndication! 5/5!
