Pros: GREAT story, GREAT characters

Cons: None in my epinion
How does a prima donna deal with failure? How about run away and join the Heptite Guild? Killashandra Ree only thinks she's a failure. Little does she know that her new adventure will truly change her for life.
Perfect pitch qualifies her, and the symbiote likes her and soon she is a valued member of the Guild singing the elusive black crystal.
McCaffrey creates a world and a society of strong-minded individuals who compete for territory, status and the all-valuable crystal. See who survives transformation, and who comes out on top.
First book in a series of three. WONDERFUL! Could hardly put this one down.
