Much more refreshing than lemonade!

Have you ever tried Minute Maid Limeade?  If not you are missing out on one of the all-time great thirst quenchers!   I tried this product out of mere curiosity some 20 years ago and have been hooked on it ever since.  There is nothing quite like Minute Maid Limeade on a hot summer afternoon.  I find it to be even more refreshing than lemonade and so much better than carbonated soft drinks.  As you might expect Minute Maid Limeade has a bit of a bite to it and is more tart than lemonade.  But honestly I have found nothing that quenches my thirst better than this product.  During the spring and summer months we always have several cans on hand in our freezer.  Priced at about $1.19 for the 12 oz can of frozen concentrate it is very economical as well.

Now you can also purchase Minute Maid Limeade in convenient 64 oz cartons.  However,  I find this option to be much more expensive.  Interestingly enough the half gallon carton contains only 10% lime juice while the frozen concentrate version has 14% real lime juice. My advice is to go with the frozen concentrate as it also contains lots of pulp which greatly enhances the flavor.  Also, I would avoid generic brands of limeade which I have found are usually quite watered down.  Minute Maid Limeade goes great with all kinds of summertime fare including burgers and hot dogs and other grill favorites like barbecued chicken and ribs.  And although I am not much of a drinker myself I understand that you can make a whole host of refreshing drinks including margaritas and daiquiris using Minute Maid Limeade

So if you never tried Minute Maid Limeade I urge you to pick up some. You just might become hooked on this stuff yourself.    Very highly recommended!

Mmmmm, I love lime!  I never tried this stuff before, but it sounds like it would go great in margaritas and daiquiris as you recommended.  I typically like going fresh, but for days when I need to whip up a huge batch, this sounds perfect!  By the way, I think you might appreciate @Sharrie's review of lime juice ;)

I guess I would qualify as a frustrated writer. My work requires very little writing and so since 1999 I have been writing reviews on non-fiction books and anthology CD's on amazon.com. I never could … more

About this topic

Wiki

Limeade (sometimes called Lime-en-ade) is a beverage similar to lemonade, but is made with lime juice or lime flavor(s) instead of those of the lemon. Rose's lime juice, a concentrated drink patented in 1867, is one of the best-known brands. A.G. Barr plc of Glasgow produce a limeade as does Newman's Own since 2004. Most major beverage companies now offer their own brand of limeade, with Minute Maid even introducing a Cherry Limeade drink in response to the popularity of Limeade.

A carbonated version is often made of 7up mixed with the juice of several limes. Sonic Drive-In uses Sprite instead of 7up to create its popular limeade.

It is one of the most popular drinks in India and Pakistan and is known as nimbu paani or limbu pani; lemon can also be used for nimbu paani.
